25About this course
The Safety Orientation training course is a core safety program intended for all employees at all levels. Businesses are made up of people and resources. Safety orientation training is an important investment in both. It starts by demonstrating to newly hired employees that safety is important and what that looks like in terms of their behaviour and in their workplace. Regular reinforcement will help to reinforce this message and ensure safe thinking leads to safe results.
The outcome for this program is intended to instill course participants with knowledge and skill sets in the following areas:
- Purpose of safety training for individuals and organizations
- Hazard identification, risk assessment and hazard control
- Workplace inspections
- Incident investigations
- People (employers and supervisors, workers, safety and health committee members and worker representatives), due diligence, and duty of care
- How it works?
There are 5 modules in this course with a total running time of 60 minutes. Each module has a 5 question test and once each employee successfully completes all 5 module tests, their safety orientation certificate of completion for the Safe Person in a Safe Place is emailed to workers immediately.
The testing is included following completion of the material review to check and confirm the employee’s understanding of the material and agreement to follow the requirements of the Harassment Prevention program of the Company.
